URBAN DECAY NAKED 3 PALETTE

THE NEW Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette finally arrived a few days ago, so I thought I would share the much anticipated review of the brand new Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette with you today. Another palette from the Naked line, which is by far Urban Decay's strongest offering and has been duped by nearly every makeup company out there.

MAC Ruby Woo

Hey guys!
I know, I know when RiRi Woo came out a few months ago everybody talked about RiRi and Ruby Woo. But I finally jumped on the bandwagon and bought Ruby Woo.

Ruby Woo is a blue-based red with a matte finish and very good coverage. It's the most matte lipstick I have ever encountered, but it's also one of the driest lipsticks I've used so far. The formula is a little bit waxy and can cling to dry patches but if you put on a lip balm before and make sure your lips aren't dry the lipstick is amazing! It wears for about 6 hours and the matte formula looks stunning.

If you missed out on MAC RiRi Woo, like I did, this is the next best thing!

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

Hey guys!
I've been looking for a good eyeshadow primer for a while now and after testing the Urban Decay Original Eyeshadow Primer Potion for a few months, I think I found one. But let's get right into the review..

The Primer Potion comes in a squeeze
 tube
with a needle point applicator that allows for both precision and controlled dispensing. It's really easy to squeeze out the amount of product that you need, (not to mention being a squeeze tube results in overall loosing less product) so this tube will last you a long time.

The original Primer Potion applies as a creamy, nude hue which then goes clear upon the eyelid and provides a smooth and flawless canvas for any eyeshadows. I have really oily eyelids, so typically my eyeshadow will begin to show signs of creasing as early as two to three hours but with this primer my eyeshadow stays on until I decide to remove it.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potions retail for $20 (0.37 oz/ 11 ml) and are also available in a travel sized version for $12 (0.2 oz/ 6 ml). They can be purchased wherever Urban Decay cosmetics are sold.

NARS Blush in Deep Throat

Hi beauties :)
Today I wanted to share with you another one of my favorite blushes, Deep Throat by NARS (Yes, the product names from this brand can be a little provocative, but it seems to work because NARS blushes are some of the most raved about in the industry).

Deep Throat is a powder blush described as "peach with shimmer" which personally I find much more pink than peach - It’s a warm coral with a hint of pink and a golden sheen.
NARS Orgasm is a touch lighter and more shimmery.

NARS blushes come in rubberized black compact casing with an full-size lid mirror in it. The downside of these is that the rubberized finish attracts every fingerprint and fleck of makeup.  They get dirty very quickly.

Deep Throat is a great everyday color. You can build the color easily up and on my cheeks it lasted for about seven hours, before the blush began to fade slowly.
NARS blushes retail for $28 (0.16 oz/ 4.8 g) and can be purchased wherever NARS cosmetics are sold.

Have you tried Deep Throat? What's your favorite blush, NARS or otherwise? Cream? Powder? Let me know!

NYX Blush In Mocha

Hi beauties!
Fall is here, so I wanted to share with you one of my blushes that's great for this season. NYX Mocha is a medium matte red pink.

Like the rest of the blushes in this line, this one comes in a shiny black rounded square compact with a snap closure. The packaging is small and compact. The powder itself has a 3D pyramid design. Each blush weighs 0.18 oz / 5.2 g.

The color reminds me a little bit of berries, a pretty red pink shade, and has a matte finish. The formula is very pigmented, smooth, and is easy to blend on the skin. The blush lasted about eight hours on my cheeks.

I really like this blush and if you are on the hunt for a color like this, I would definitely recommend it to you.
NYX Blushes retail for about $6. I think this is a pretty good price for the amount of product you get, considering the quality.

MAC Paint Pot - Soft Ochre

Hi beauties!
I recently started using the Soft Ochre Paint Pot by MAC. I've heard people talk about it for years, so a couple of weeks ago I decided to switch things up and give this shade a try.

MAC Paint Pots are cream eyeshadows that can be worn alone or used as a base under other eyeshadows.

Soft Ochre is a light nude cream with yellow undertones.  It is completly matt. This shade is a little bit lighter and more yellow than The Painterly Paint Pot, which is more of a beige/pink nude. In general I would say if you have warm undertones, Soft Ochre would suit you best.

The paint pot applies on the skin like a creamy concealer. It can be blended sheerly, or layered for full coverage. This color would make a great primer for people with light to medium complexions.  On deeper complexions, it would work great for brightening the eye area to apply lighter shadows.

After trying it for a couple weeks, Soft Ochre is now my go-to everyday primer. I love the consistency, it keeps my powder eyeshadows bright, and it doesn't crease on me!

MAC Paint Pots retail for around $19 and can be purchased wherever MAC cosmetics are sold.

Leopard & Triangles

Hi beauties :)
Sorry for the lack of text in this post, guys! But I have been sick the last few days so all I want to do right now is relax and drink a cup of tea. Next week I'll do a little giveaway for you, so keep an eye out for that!

Anyways, today I have a new nail design for you that I did a week ago. It's a simple leopard print with an white and gold accent thumb & ringfinger.

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24HR - Pomegranate Punk

Hi beauties :)
You probably already know that I love the Color Tattoos by Maybelline, so it's not really surprising that I bought another one. This time it's the much more fall appropriate - Pomegranate Punk ($6.99 for 0.14 oz.).

Pomegranate punk is a metallic burgundy with fine silver shimmer.

The product comes in a sturdy clear glass jar, with a black screw-on lid that closes very well. Overall the packaging is very similar to MAC's paintpots.

The texture of Pomegranate Punk is smooth and easy to blend, not quite as silky as the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad To The Bronze or Tough as Taupe because the shimmer particles are slightly larger but still amazing. Comparable if not better than MAC Paint Pots in terms of smoothness and blendability.

It needs about 2-3 layers to get good coverage and pigmentation and stays without an eyeshadowbase almost 6 hours on my (oily) eyelids.

I really like this cream eyeshadow and would recommend it to everyone who is looking for a great burgundy eyeshadow, the color would especially look good on people with blue or green eyes because it would make your eyes stand out.
You can wear it as a base, as an eyeliner or solo.

DAISY

Hi beauties :)
I've been a bad blogger. Oh well. I'm not going to make any excuses about the lack of updates here because things have been busy, but I promise that I'm going to post more often starting with a new nail design.

This morning I had the idea to do a nail design inspired by marc jacobs daisy perfume. So I used a shimmery nude nail polish as my base and added white daisies and dots with a dotting tool. To make it a little bit more interesting I added silver studs to the flowers.

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

Hi beauties :)
I have resisted and resisted and resisted jumping on the Urban Decay Naked band wagon, but I finally caved. I wanted the Naked Palette when it first came out, but I wasn't sure if I really needed it because I already had many neutral eyeshadows. Then the Naked 2 Palette came out, and I was torn between which one to invest in. When the Naked Basics Palette came out, I was even more torn between the three of them. But as you can see by the title I bought the Urban Decay Naked Basics first, and I don't regret it at all. It's so amazing that I already bought the Urban Decay Naked 1 and I can't wait until it arrives. But now lets get to the review...

Urban Decay's Naked Basics shadows come in a small, rubber-like palette, that opens via a small plastic clip. Once opened, the palette contains six full sized shadows (0.05oz) and a nice sized mirror that allows you to get a close up view of your eyes when applying your makeup. Urban Decay's 'Naked Basics' palette is lightweight, compact and fits easily into a small purse, making it perfect for both travel, and daily on-the-go touchups.

Venus, Foxy, W.O.S. (Walk of Shame), Naked 2, Faint, Crave
While the palette is advertised as matte, only 5 of the shades have a matte finish. Venus, the lightest color, has a satin finish. I think the color selection is pretty great in this. You have an extra light highlight, two nudes, a light brown, medium brown, and black.  Nevertheless, all of the shadows are buttery smooth, extremely well pigmented, easy to blend, and apply like a dream.

Venus, Foxy, W.O.S. (Walk of Shame), Naked 2, Faint, Crave

The Urban Decay 'Naked Basics' palette retails for $27 USD and can be found at places like Sephora and the Urban Decay website.

Overall, I am really impressed with the quality of this palette. With the exception of Foxy, all of the shadows in this palette are brand new colours that work nicely in a variety of everyday neutral looks. All of the shadows in this palette have a smooth, buttery consistency, are highly pigmented, and are easy to blend. If you have been looking for an everyday neutral palette be sure to check this one out.

Have you tried Urban Decay's new Naked Basics palette?

A Pretty Little Office

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6

Hi Beauties :)
I'm all about making mood boards when I'm dreaming up a new design project. My  bedroom currently does not have a desk, and I really want to create a cozy place for me to sit and blog or for doing my homework. I have put this picture together of pieces that I want to pick up for my new office space. Just looking at it makes me happy!

P.S. I'm actually going to spray paint the legs of the desk silver so they match better with everything else.

Sally Hansen Sugar Coat

 Hi beauties :)
I'm generally pretty anti-textured polishes, but when I saw this one  recently, I felt like I needed it in my life. The new Sally Hansen textured polishes are hard to come by in my area, and I just happened to find this while I was grocery shopping the other day. It was the last one left. This polish reached full opacity in two coats. I used no top coat. The wear time is amazing, and it was surprisingly easy to clean up my cuticles. I highly recommend! I like this one so much I think I'm going to pick up the black and mint green too.

Clarisonic MIA 2

Hello Beauties :)
So today is going to be a review of the Clarisonic MIA 2. Lots of you guys have been asking about my opinion on it and if I think it's something that you should work into your skincare routine. And let me just say before I even get into any details, yes it is something you should work into your skincare routine.

If you're not familiar with what kind of skin type I have, I do have oily but sensitive skin. Before I bought the MIA 2 I was just doing the bare minimum of cleaning my face. I was using make up remover wipes and maybe toner here and there, I really wasn't doing a lot to my skin and I realized that I needed something to kind of scrub my face better than I was doing and after I had seen a ton of reviews on youtube, I decided to finally buy it.

The Clarisonic MIA 2 comes in a set with the brush head, a travel case, a charger and a travelsize cleanser. It costs 149$ and you can buy it at places like Ulta, Sephora and Nordstrom.

First thought that probably comes to mind about putting a brush on your face is that it's going to be rough. Not with the Clarisonic Mia 2! It felt more like a massage on my face, very gentle and relaxing. I use it every night and sometimes even in the morning so that my foundation goes on smoother. Also is it completely waterproof so you can use it in the shower.

The Clarisonic Mia 2 has two speed settings, but I don't mind on which speed my Clarisonic is set when I use it. The Clarisonic also has a T-Timer. The T-Timer is set at one minute and gives you a pulse when it's time to move to the next area of your face. Forehead (20 sec.), nose and chin (20 sec.), cheeks (20 sec.). I always start at my chin so the water and cleanser doesn't run down from my forehead into my eyes.

The first time I used the Clarisonic I was amazed because my skin felt so clean and soft afterwards and after I used it for about 3 weeks I  began to notice a difference in how my skin looked. I hardly ever have huge breakouts anymore and my pores appear smaller. Also my foundation looks much better when I apply it. Overall I wouldn't wanna miss my MIA 2 in my skincare routine anymore and would definitely buy it again.

Remember your skin may get worse before it gets better but don't let that discourage you. It just means its removing all that gunk trapped under your skin. I 100% recommend this to all my makeup lovers. Nothing better than the clean face feeling.

Benefit CORALista

Hi Beauties :)
Today's featured product is one of my most loved blushes in my make up collection: Benefit CORALista.  This is described as "a coral blush for a tropical flush", and it is very suitable for summer!

One thing I love about all Benefit Boxed Powders is the packaging. Benefit CORALista is cased in a colorful cardboard box with an attached flip lid. I think the packaging is very unique and definitely stands out. Also, CORALista comes with a little brush like all the other boxed powders. They're definitely better quality than the typical brushes you'll get with products, but I still prefer an actual blush brush for application.

CORALista is a coral blush with a golden shimmer to it. It is one of those corals that is compatible with any skin undertone, and works really well on fair to medium complexions. The pigmentation of this blush is really nice, and it blends and wears well.

Overall, I really recommend this blush if you are looking for a good all-around staple. I think CORALista is a great everyday blush and you can wear it with practically any eye make-up.

CORALista retails for $28 and contains .28 oz/8g of product. You can get this wherever Benefit cosmetics are sold!

Have you tried Benefit Boxed Powders? Which is your favorite?

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24HR - Pink Gold

 Hi beauties :)
Today I want to do a review on the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Pink Gold ($6.99 for 0.14 oz.). It's my thrid one and definitely will not be my last, there are just too many pretty colors. Pink Gold is a rosegold,  fairly cool in tone and has a pretty silver almost metallic looking shimmer.

The product comes in a sturdy clear glass jar, with a black screw-on lid that closes very well. Overall the packaging is very similar to MAC's paintpots. Also, be careful if you have more than one open, because the product’s name is actually on the lid, not the bottom of the jar, so if you can easily mix them up.  Thankfully, the shade range is pretty diverse and there aren’t shades that look too similar to each other, so it is possible to look them up if you forgot.

The eyeshadow itself has an interesting consistency, at first it's creamy but when you put it on and start to blend it gets powdery. You can still blend it perfectly and there a no harsh lines at all. It's is very well pigmented and stays on my eyelids without an eyeshadowbase almost all day.

I really like this product and would recommend it to everyone who likes nudish & shimmery eyeshadows. I think it is a great color to wear all over your lid when you don't have the time to do a more time-consuming eye make up and it still looks put together. You can wear it as a base, as an eyeliner or solo.

4th of July

Hi beauties :)
I thought I could show you my idea for a 4th of july naildesign. So instead of the normal US flag I decided to do a sugar spun nail design with the colors white, red and blue. For white I used essie - blanc, for blue essie - mesmerize and for red essie - fifth avenue.

Billie Jean

Hi beauties :)
Today I want to share a new nail design with you. This time I got inspired by Michael Jackson's suit he wore in the Billie Jean short film. I started with a light pink nail polish, then used a black striper to draw the tuxedo on and after that I added two white dots and a red bow tie with a dotting tool. I hope you like it ♥

You can see the tuxedo in action here ;)

Benefit Hervana Blush Review & Swatches

Hi beauties :)
As you may know I got a Benefit set for christmas and one of the things that were in it, is the hervana blush so today I wanted to do a review on that.

The packaging is compact and feels sturdy. As with all of Benefit's boxed powders, it comes with a little brush that sits neatly inside the box but I never use the brushes, as I find that their bristles are too hard on the powder, which causes chalkiness and fallout.
What's also great about this blush is the scent! It smells floral and light, nothing too overwhelming.

Hervana is a beautiful blend of peach and lavender pink that looks on my cheeks like a natural and healthy flush color. The blush is matt on the skin and not so pigmented, what is a good thing for pale skin because you can build it up. The blush lasts on my skin for around 5 hours, so it's okay.
Overall it's a great everyday blush for me. I reach out for it most of the days and I'll definitly buy more Benefit boxed powders.

Beauty Blender Review

Hi beauties :)
A few months ago I got the chance to test out a beauty blender*. I used it almost everytime I applied foundation, so today I want to tell you my opinion on this make-up sponge.

I really like the blender because, unlike foundation or concealer brushes that often streak or apply makeup unevenly, it really allows the makeup to go on perfectly all over your skin. So it's a great way to get a really clean and even finish all over your face without feeling like your makeup is caked on.

To use the blender, first moisten it with water. The sponge can grow to almost twice its original size once moistened and is part of why its application is so flawless. Most people use it by applying foundation to the back of their hand, dip the beauty blender into that and then kind of bouncing the blender all over their face. This way, the foundation doesn't streak and is clean and even all over. Applying foundation directly to the blender, however, can use up more product, as some of it is absorbed into the sponge.

Overall I really like this sponge, the only downside I could find is the price. 19 $ for a make up sponge are a little bit too much...
But I would still recommend the Beauty Blender because it applies foundation and concealer flawless, fast and easy.

Benefit - the POREfessional

Hi beauties :)
Today I want to review Benefit's POREfessional primer. Benefit describes this as a 'PRO balm to minimise the appearance of pores'. It can be applied underneath makeup to fill in fine lines and pores, and also over the top of makeup as a touch up throughout the day.

I use this after moisturising and before applying my foundation, you only need a tiny amount of it. Then I dab it over my forehead, nose & cheeks and dab it in with my fingertips. The consistency is like a thick cream as you squeeze it out of the tube, but as you start to dab it in the texture changes and it feels like a powdery paste. It is so smooth and silky feeling afterwards, it makes your face feel flawlessly smooth! I was quite surprised the first time I tried it that it was coloured, I expected it to be clear. But once it's dabbed in, it goes transparent.

What I love about The POREfessional is how smooth and silky it feels on your skin. It’s light weight, and leaves your skin matte – which in summer, is a positive. On top of that, it helps your makeup stay put and not glide throughout the day. I would definitely recommend this product if you have large pores. You can buy this primer at Sephora, Benefitstores etc. for around 28 $
